Our interview with Candice from Oluphic Trailers.

Could you please briefly introduce yourself and tell us what your business is about?

Olympic Trailers is a manufacturing business based in Adelaide South Australia. We build Horse floats and trailers which we sell throughout Australia. We are proud to carry the Australian-made logo and to support other Australian companies who supply to us.

What’s the story behind how you ended up being in the business?

Candice has had a lifelong involvement with horses and Kent had building background. They were looking to buy a business so discussions commenced with the former owner of Olympic Trailers. Candice could see many ways they could build and grow the business through her knowledge of the equestrian scene and Kent’s hands-on building skills.

What makes the business unique?

All the floats and trailers are made in South Australia using components and steel that is Australian made. Suppliers are all Australian based, many of them situated in the same neighbourhood as the Olympic Trailers factory. We genuinely care about the safety and comfort of horses and we incorporate that care into the Horse floats we manufacture.

What’s your favourite thing about your work?

The best thing about this business is going out to Equestrian events anywhere in Australia and seeing horses and owners getting out and about in their Olympic Horse Float and being transported comfortably and safely – the fruits of our labours being put to work for the purpose for which they are intended!

How do you envision success?

Leaving work at the end of a busy day knowing that we are contributing to the growth and sustainability of Australian manufacturing – running a business isn’t always easy but the satisfaction we get from employing local guys, supporting local businesses and providing a quality Australian-made product to our customers – it’s the best feeling in the world.

Tell us about one of the good experiences you’ve had as an Australian Credit Acceptance Finance Referral Partner?

Many of our customers have been able to purchase a new Horse Float thanks to ACA – there have been multiple occasions where customers receive their new float and are overwhelmed with excitement – they absolutely LOVE their floats and it’s thanks to ACA that they’re able to get them.

How do you find that we help your business?

By providing sustainable and workable finance solutions to potential customers – they build our business. If customers were unable to use ACA for finance, they would possibly choose an inferior product that is built off-shore so it would be a lose/lose situation – not only for them but for Australia as a whole.
